Riflessi del Garda Art Festival on Lake Garda Coming Up!

If you’re going to be in Verona in July, we have the perfect reason to take a day trip from Verona to Lake Garda! The Riflessi del Garda Festival is returning to the shores of Lake Garda with an exciting artistic program. From July 5th to 20th, the festival will feature eight evenings of concerts, recitals, and dance, showcasing promising young talent alongside internationally renowned artists. The thirteen evenings of music and dance will be hosted across Castelnuovo del Garda, Lazise, and the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Frassino in Peschiera del Garda. Each evening offers a unique experience, aiming to engage locals and tourists who flock to Lake Garda in the summer with a sophisticated blend of various musical and dance styles throughout history.

Organized by the Niccolò Piccinni ODV Fund, the festival brings together established and emerging stars of the international lyrical-symphonic scene. Highlights include soprano Mariam Battistelli and tenor Fabio Armiliato on opening night, mezzo-soprano Marta Pluda, the principal dancers and soloists of Teatro alla Scala with violinist Saulė Kilaitė, young piano virtuosos Emanuele Savròn and Nicola Parisi, and renowned violinist Enrico Casazza with his ensemble.

The festival will feature exceptional contributions from actor Fabio Testi, in an evening dedicated to iconic Italian cinema soundtracks, and the celebrated soprano Katia Ricciarelli, who will preside over the 42nd Piccinni Prize ceremony, awarding the world-famous violinist Uto Ughi.

The event opens on Friday, July 5th with GALA PUCCINI, an evening dedicated to Giacomo Puccini, celebrating the centenary of the legendary composer from Lucca. On Saturday, July 6th, the Orchestra will perform DAVID DI DONATELLO: THE CONCERT, paying tribute to the most iconic Italian cinema soundtracks awarded the David di Donatello. On Sunday, July 7th, DANCE FOR THE EARTH will feature the return of the principal dancers and soloists of La Scala. Additionally, on July 6th and 7th at 7 pm, the Terrazza degli Artisti will enrich the evening with discussions led by artistic director Maximilien Seren-Piccinni about opera, music, and performance, preparing the audience for the night’s main events. The programme at Castelnuovo concludes with the IMAGINE concert on Monday, July 8th, presenting a symphonic blend of jazz, pop, and rock by the Archimia String Quartet.

From July 12th to 14th, the festival moves to Lazise. On Friday, July 12th, at 9:15 pm in the Church of Saints Zenone and Martino, violinist Enrico Casazza and the ensemble La Magnifica Comunità will present DVOŘÁK, GIRAMONDO BOEMO, commemorating the 120th anniversary of Antonín Dvořák’s death. The following evening, Saturday, July 13th, at the Dogana Veneta, the four-string piano quartet Archimia will perform. On July 15th at the Dogana Veneta, young duo Emanuele Savròn and Nicola Parisi will give a four-hand piano recital titled CHOPIN VS CHOPIN, honoring the 175th anniversary of Fryderyk Chopin’s death. The second edition of the Riflessi del Garda Festival will conclude on Saturday, July 20th at 9:15 pm in the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Frassino in Peschiera del Garda with the concert SCINTILLÆ NOCTIS, featuring the Ensemble Organa et Bucinæ performing for voice, organ, and trumpet.
