The Move-In Service is now active in Verona

The Move-In service, short for Monitoraggio dei Veicoli Pollutanti, is now operational in Verona Municipality. It’s a new approach aimed at providing citizens with a smarter option than traditional restrictions on highly polluting vehicles, like those with diesel engines up to “Euro 4” standards, as mandated by municipal regulations to enhance air quality.

Move-In is tailored for residents of participating municipalities, enabling them to use their vehicles more consciously and responsibly, considering actual usage and driving habits.

How Does it Work?

Vehicle owners subject to traffic restrictions between October 1st and April 30th can voluntarily enroll in Move-In. Once enrolled, their vehicles won’t face hourly or daily bans but will receive an annual distance allowance based on vehicle type and environmental classification. Additionally, they can earn bonus kilometers for eco-friendly driving. Membership lasts for a year and can be initiated at any time.

However, Move-In doesn’t permit vehicle use during emergency measures, such as orange and red alerts or ecological Sundays, during which standard limitations apply.

How is Monitoring done?

Monitoring is facilitated through a black box installed in the vehicle, tracking real distances and driving behavior via satellite connection to dedicated technological infrastructure provided by accredited Telematic Service Providers (TSP) in the Veneto Region. Mileage is counted for a year from enrollment, across all road types and times within participating municipalities.

Once the annual mileage limit is reached, the vehicle cannot be used further within the service area for the remainder of the membership year.

How to Register

Vehicle owners interested in registering can do so through the dedicated online platform managed by ARIA SpA at www.movein.regione.veneto.it. Membership is voluntary, with a maximum fee of 50 Euros for the first year and 20 Euros for subsequent years.
