Verona Hosts the G7 in March 2024

Preparations are in full swing in Verona, Italy, as the city gears up to host the G7 meeting of industry and space ministers from March 13th to 15th. This prestigious event will bring together representatives from the seven leading industrialized nations – Germany, France, the USA, Canada, the UK, and Japan – to discuss pressing issues in these crucial sectors.

The spotlight will be firmly on Verona as these ministers gather at various locations, including the Prefecture, the Confindustria auditorium, the Gran Guardia palace, and the Teatro Filarmonico. Their agenda will be packed with meetings and discussions focused on industrial production and space exploration. The aim is for these seven major powers to assess the current situation, forge new commitments, and chart a unified course for the future. This year has a particular focus on Artificial Intelligence, which Italy has been very critical of, outright banning AI like ChatGPT at certain points due to violations of EU privacy law.

Adding to the excitement, the G7 meeting will be preceded by the B7 summit, taking place on March 13th. This gathering brings together the business communities of the G7 member states, offering Italian companies the chance to participate and connect with their international counterparts.

“We have a great responsibility on our shoulders and we intend to honour it to the best of our ability, once again showing how capable Italy is of charting the course ahead.” -Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni
